			<description><![CDATA[ While researching the answer to Willam&#39;s posting. Well, looking through Roy Hudd&#39;s Cavalcade of Variey Acts, if that can be called research. I came
across an act I recall that would sometimes pop up on the likes of Sunday Night At the London Palladium. It was Terri Carol. Her speciality was paper tearing.
She would take a roll of paper and turn it into a tree or a ladder that would reach up to the top of the prscenium arch. ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I have just remembered for no apparent reason, an act which used to crop up on the odd occasion in fifties television variety shows. A man and a woman who were
known as Apache dancers would gyrate sensuously around the stage in a manner which woud now have the politically correct brigade foaming at the mouth.

The act consisted of a man dressed in a French style beret and a closely striped sweater, possibly with a kerchief around his neck. He would dance with a a

			<description><![CDATA[ Ah! the joys of car boot sales.  As I wandered round a local one today I came across Fred Emeny&#39;s biography from 1960. For those of you not old enough to
remember this very rotund gentleman I can tell you he was a regular on 50s TV popping up in all sorts of shows and I think he may have had his own show. Fred
was very fat and he always had a cigar and wore a monocle.  His clothes were usually gentlemens tweeds and waistcoat. He was a  famous for being a comedian.

I dont think I&#39;ve ever seen this before. I never knew the man you worked with used to apply Joan Crawford&#39;s lipstick. In fact I once worked with a man
who was nicknamed Flying Officer Kyte but I never realised at the time the connection with Humprey Lestocq who played the part in &quot;Waterlogged Spa&quot;.
I thought it was just an old RAF nickname for anyone with a handlebar moustache.
