Recovered by the BFI are:
tx: 06.07.67 & 27.7.67. About 20 mins of each show exists. Both are hosted by Alan Freeman.
Both feature constant rolling as the original tape was very badly damaged. Perhaps at any given time you only get about a minute of unsullied footage but it is very valuable as a record of what the Pink Floyd looked...

Well almost 51 years since this serial was televised, and almost 50 years since it was last repeated. Just the other day 22 October was the 54th anniversary of the first episode of QUATERMASS II. does anyone remember something about the BBC going to recreate a scene from THE QUATERMASS EXPERIMENT some time back for some sort of drama play, I vaguely recall this but cant remember where I read it? 'Bob's Full House' Event and Collection Contents Update

On Saturday, October the 24th, an announcement on the Bob Monkhouse Collection will be made at the 'Bob's Full House' event to be held by the BAFTA organization in London. Interestingly enough, it is thirty years ago (1979) when Bob Monkhouse won his case on appeal with respect to ownership of his collection. It is also thirty years ago since the BBC took the first steps in the recovery of its previously wiped and junked programmes, having the year previously (spring, 1978)...

I think this site is brilliant and full of the programs i grew up watching as a child in the 50's. I've just joined this forum and hope someone can help me out! I can remember The Peter Scott wild life program called "Look"? Can anyone tell me what this program's theme music was or even better where i might be able to get hold of a copy.

I wonder could anyone assist? I recently completed extensive research on a number of theatres and I unearthed a newspaper cutting, written by the late Derek Nimmo, in which he mentions the actor Rex Deering. I understand Rex appeared in a number of TV series/ Films in small roles, often uncredited. He appeared in 'Robin Hood' on several occasions, though these may be 'uncredited'

Rex was active during the 40's 50's and sixties. I have been asked for more...

R.I.P Simon Dee, I had many happy hours working with him at Radio Luxembourg. He always brought in a bottle of wine while we did the programmes. Behind the scenes he was a nice guy.

Very sad to hear the news that John Bentley who played Insp.Derek in the 50's TV series African Patrol has passed away aged 92. John also re-surfaced in the 70's playing Hugh Mortimer in Crossroads.

This Saturday the earliest complete surviving drama to be found in the television archives is to be shown at the BFI Southbank (formerly the National Film Theatre) in London. 'It Is Midnight Dr Schweitzer' starts at 3.20pm; starring Andre Morell and Greta Gyn (br. January 1953). It will be shown with two other Rudolph Cartier BBC productions, 'The July Plot'(1964) and 'Level Seven' (1966); to be shown later in the afternoon.

Its the QUATERMASS music I am interested in.Still after PROJECT/ PAROXYSMS/PILLARS OF HERCULES/RADIATION AREA/SWORD OF DAMOCLES/SHROUDED TREES/FOUR EVIL MEN SUITE:THE CONMAN/THE KILLER/WITH NOBLE PURPOSE VISION the latter was used at the end of QUATERMASS AND THE PIT ...there are a few others to mention.

Not sure where to post this so here and 'Anything Else' is the two I have plumped for. I am glad to see that The Argos group are ensuring the continuation of two very old British firms and one German one in their TV and Radio Product range. i.e. Bush Grundig and Alba. Names that conjure up the past in the fifties and sixties households I remember. They have cosy memories for me.
