Did anyone watch this on Saturday Night. It was, as always quite an emotional service. But I though Faryl Smith had a better voice than Hayley Westenra . But one of the songs that was sung on the night I found particularly poignant and that was You'll Never Walk Alone. Like much of Rodgers and Hammerstein's songs this one is just right for a special moment.

Hayley sang We'll Meet Again with an old video recording of Vera singing it as well. I found Hayley's version...

Did anyone see this programme last night. It was about a man who hunted the Nazis down who shot the Great Escapers. It was quite fascinating how this ex policeman who was in the RAF was given the job of hunting these men down. It took him a few years to do it as well. Those he did find were hanged. Did anyone else watch this film last night? A film from a musical based on The Supremes story.

I watched it until about 10.30pm and then I switched off because I just couldn't take Jennifer Hudson's singing/shouting anymore. Her character was based on the tragic Florence Ballard and she shouted every time she sang but as her character got more tormented, the more she shrieked.

I realise this is just a personal thing with me, I can't stand singers who shout...

Reports are coming in that our intrepid BBC critic and editor in chief of grammatical errors on the BBC seems to have missed a rather obvious mistake this week. Apparently, (according to the Mail On Sunday) this week saw a rather large legend underlining a report said Dammed Report rather than Damned Report.

...of watching the grandkids pick fresh peas from our vegie patch! Watching them open the pods and munching the little green peas! Priceless.

Hats off to 'im indoors for growing vegetables in spite of the drought...collecting water in rain-tanks and keeping the beds watered... Roginoz would understand how hard it is in these terribly dry times in Australia.

The weather is warm and sunny again today, so it was a shock to be reminded that it is only eight weeks or thereabouts til Christmas. The big Tesco supermarket near me is choc a bloc with not only Halloween paraphernalia but Christmas goods, in the CD and DVD racks there are umpteen Chrismas CDs for sale by artists from Barbra Streisand (who's Jewish!) to the likes of Daniel O'Donnell, Elvis and Foster and Allen etc etc then there is the DVD's of Christmas Specials from...
