Today is truly a black day for cricket the world over. It is the day when the ICC ( International Cricket Council ) finally capitulated to the Pakistani
lobby and declared the result of the fourth Test England v Pakistan in 2006 a drawn game. Prior to the ICC decision, the game was recorded (rightly) as an
England win as the entire Pakistan team declined to take the field at tea on the final day thus forfeiting the match as per Law. It was the game that umpire
Daryl Hair attracted much...

Many will remember Derek Tapscott who was an all-action inside forward for Arsenal, and later, Cardiff City, in the 1950s. Derek's obituary appeared in
yesterday's Guardian. He died on 12th June, aged 75. It is a sign that age is creeping up when a person's prime seems such a short time ago and now he
has passed on.

Does anyone now remember Albert Quixall of Sheffield Wednesday, Man Utd and Oldham.
There was a time when he was going to be the next big thing being capped by England at 19 and being the best ball juggler in English soccer. His career sort of
unexpectedly faded out and he never made it as big as his early promise.

Another one like that who was a fantastic junior and then disappeared was David Cliss of Chelsea - was he a Spurs junior? As a schoolboy everyone was raving

briefly, became a legend. In 62 games for Sheffield Wednesday in the early 50's he scored 61 goals and would surely have gone on to greater things had it
not been for a tragic accident late in 1953. Whilst playing against Preston he was invoved in a collision with goalkeeper George Thompson, leaving him with a
