The Darker Episodes

As an adult, I find I'm developing a real appreciation for the "darker" stories. I just re-watched "The Crusaders," and it knocked my socks off for the second time. I've found myself compiling a list of my favorite stories, and most of them are the more adult, darker ones. For instance:

I haven't verified this, but a reviewer at Amazon's U.S. site of the new U.S. release of season 1 of "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (from Mill Creek Entertainment) claims that there are two variations of the episode "The Knight Who Came to Dinner." The Volume 10 to which he refers is from the series of 15 DVDs released by the U.S. company Alpha Video. I am reprinting reviewer Peter Ingemi's comments (complete with misspellings) below . . . . .

Does anyone know if its available anywhere? Has anyone got a recording of it, and is willing to share? This is the only film with Richard Greene I havent seen yet! It was based on a play by William Douglas Home. Im reading it just now, and its fascinating. The part of Tufnell is so right for Richard Greene, it could have been written especially for him.

Id be very grateful for the film, in any format. Im going to post a similar message on the 50s Film thread, hoping that...

New US DVD release of "The Adventures"

Mill Creek Entertainment, the U.S. company that previously released the Sapphire Films production of "The Buccaneers" on DVD in North America, will be releasing the entire series/season 1 of "The Adventures of Robin Hood" on March 18.
