Putting this on here rather that 50s radio to hopefully appeal to a wider audience (which the wireless alas, for me, doesn't seem to do nowadays)
Is it me - or are Sunday's getting more and more boring? When I was young Sunday was a great day for the radio but now there seems to be nothing worth while on it (or the TV for that matter)
If only I could be transported back.....
Starting off with Two Way family favourites. What's the weather like in Cologne? The bumper bundle is Pat Boone with 'I'll be home'. Then on to the Billy Cotton Band Show. A typical cockney number from Breezey. Comedy shows - alright not all of them the same Sunday - Round the Horne with Ramblin' Syd and Daphne Whitethigh. The Clitheroe Kid with daft Alfie Hall. Life with the Lyons - I'll die, I'll just die. Educating Archie with either Monica or Marlene. Navy Lark - Left hand down a bit. Even Sing Something Simple went down OK in our house. Then late at night if the reception was good enough Top 20 on Radio Luxembourg. Oh - I forgot Hancock's Half Hour - but I bet it'd be 'Sunday Afternoon At Home'
