I remember 'Stars and Garters', It was an Associated Rediffusion Production. The series of shows began in 1963. However, it was critized for being a a little sleazy and someone threatened to 'put a bomb' in the studio if it was not taken off-air. (Apparently, some viewers objected to uncouth behaviour in the audience and did not appreciate some of compere, Ray Martine's 'squalid' jokes. In addition to Ray Martine. The line-up was Vince Hill, Kathy Kirby, Clinton Ford and Tommy Bruce. It has to be said that the singers went on to become well-known to a much wider audience because of this series.
