Off on Thursday in the caravan for a week in Cambridgeshire.....looking forward to re-visiting the US War Cemetery at Madingley
which never fails to move us.
Another place we must re-visit is the Orchard Tea Gardens at Grantchester.... as advertised ......"The Orchard - a corner of England where time stands

Then there's Ely, the Cathedral, the Museum, and Oliver Cromwell's house.

Have a great time Banner. Ely Cathedral is lovely, and Oliver Cromwell's house whilst not large is a fascinating place, I can thoroughly recommend both

Off for some R & R tomorrow...
We're travelling on The Ghan to central Australia...Alice Springs and then on to ULURU formerly known as Ayers Rock. Should be quite an adventure!

Just back from Cornwall, three nights was all we could grab right now but will go again later in the summer. It wasn't half as crowded as I thought it
would be and not so many cars on the road either which has to be fuel prices kicking in. We stayed at a super bed and breakfast and a real bonus was a bus stop
a fe yards from their drive so we didn't use the car once when we were there. The bed and breakfast owners were keen recyclers which was good news, they
even provided each room with a strong hessian bag should we need to shop but as I'd brought my own anyway it remained in the cupboard.

I wonder why they call it The Bridge of Sighs, Banner? It's nothing like the one in Venice, the Oxford one is undertandable as it does look fairly like it.
Anyone know?

Pat, my mistake - I put up the wrong bridge.....here's the real Bridge Of Sighs courtesy of http://www.ukattraction.com/ unlike the Oxford one this one is over water. Somewhere I have a picture of the Venice one when
we visited a few years ago - if I find it I'll post it on here.

Off on Friday for a long weekend on the Lincolnshire coast, this time without the caravan, back on Tuesday 29th.
Mrs B picked out a very nice hotel as part of her birthday prezzie from me so on this occasion we dine in style! Hope you enjoy your own sunny weekend whatever you're doing. |
