Latest editions to my site http://www.mastersofmelody.co.uk/ are a 1956 Music While You Work broadcast from Michael Collins and his Orchestra (on the MWYW page), and a broadcast (not MWYW) by Billy Ternent and his orchestra, which was surely one of the best bands on the air, with its highly distinctive style. Billy played every instrument in the band and could even tell if somebody was using the wrong fingering! His band was one of the few bands to survive the BBC's axe in the late sixties and broadcast regularly until just before Billy's death in 1977. The compere was Roger Moffatt, whose witty comments eventually cost him his job! If you fancy a bit of Christmas cheer, you might also enjoy the annual Christmas MWYW by Jack White and his band, also on my site.
(I have transferred my programme notifications to 'Anything Else' as they don't seem to get noticed in '50's Radio' - a section of the board now rarely used.)
