I have just been taking a walk down memory lane with my father who is 93 and he recalled a character from either the Dandy or Beano who was a boys father with a moustace and pipe and always ended the comic strip by saying "Daft I calls it" now can anyone help with the name of the comic strip and the characters?????

And Knockout was only printed in three colours as though it couldnt quite afford proper colour. Black and white and red.
Not all pages even stretched to red, but I seem to recall "Our Ernie" did. The only other character I can recall from this publication (although I took it regularly) was "Stonehenge Kit, the Ancient Brit". And didn't Ernie's dad always end up saying "What's For Tea, mam? Or am I imagining that? |

It usually ended with Ernie's dad saying "Daft, I calls it" and Ernie's pet worm grinning in the foreground! |

Is there a comic expert here who could possibly tell me when a certain character stopped appearing in the Dandy Comic. (Almost sure it was Dandy but outside chance it could be Beano, but I dont think so.)
I want to find out how old I was when I could barely think (but I remember this character, so maybe I was older than I thought.) I think his name was "Nosey Parker" and he used to wheel his nose around in front of him in a wheelbarrow. I fancy he was replaced by either "Keyhole Kate" or "Hungry Horace". I am guessing around about 1945 to 1948. Dont think any later than that. Not quite in fifties but not appropriate for "Anything Else" thread. I wonder if anyone with an old comic collection could tell me? |

Thank you so much, Jules. Now if only I can divulge when this strip ceased in the Dandy, I may establish what I have wondered for a long time. Have I lived before?
PS. Excellent new gif. I like it. |
