Hi Wendy and all. back home from Cyprus. no one would take a decent picture of me (no surprise there) - this is the best I can do. Just about to go into Stavrovouni Monastery. No ladies admitted and DEFINITELY no cords!! Too much of a turn on for the monks if you wear shorts. Great weather - there is a pic of me swimming but it's only my head and it looks like an apple floating in a bucket of detergent. Had to struggle a bit to remember how to operate Fotango but Stuart's instructions once again proved invaluable. Red cross in white box - who needs you!

Welcome back Ossie,
Cyprus is a great favourite of mine having had holidays in Paphos and Protaras. We enjoyed driving into the Troodos mountains and exploreing the famous Kykkos Monastery. Like your picture - but be warned it could disappear when the clock strikes midnight(see Sandpit postings). |

Great to have you back Ossie - we missed you.
It looks a great place but yes be warned - there's something very "vampireish" going on. Wait until midnight and all will be revealed!!!!!!! |

Welcome back from me too.
It's a case of "now you see him, now you don't"!! When I first opened up this thread, all I saw was White Box, Red Cross. Then after I briefly left and returned - suddenly you appeared in all your sun burnished glory. I think you must have been kidnapped by the monks. Thank God you weren't wearing that natty pair of lovat cord shorts or they would never have allowed you to return to us. By the way, Wendy was missing for most of last week too - I'M SUSPICIOUS! I hope you haven't been dancing the Fotango together. Brian |

Well - I didn't have to wait till midnight. Cyprus vanished down the plughole at 9.50pm - but by 10pm it was back. The whole thing is enough to drive this rabbit nuts - I knew I should never have dabbled with the crystal ball gif a while back - didn't Lena Horne sing about am new fangled fotango - there's nothing to it - you just sort of stand there and just sort of do it. Yeah, right Lena...............

Lena danced the New Fangled Fotango back then Ossie, but I suppose even that is Old Fashioned now.
I hope the Red Cross is standing by at midnight when you're kidnapped by those monks again, Ossie. May heaven preserve you. Brian |

So far so good but I think it happens a bit nearer to 1.a.m. really.

Hmmmm! 3.20.a.m. and all's well. Guess that blows that theory out the window then.

The delay and resulting red cross is if your source is suddenly slowed down and therefore 'times itself out'.
The site can be affected and slowed when all of America logs in. Many of our friends across the pond set their AOL auto timers to download mail at 8.00 in the morning... hence the sudden seizure of some sites. In other words, W'gig may be running smoothly and loading fast... but if Fotango is treacley and slow the link to the photo cannot occur... hence the cross kiss. So blame the Yanks. |

Thanks Stuart. It's weird how it happens on photos that have been downloaded successfully and are in view for 18 hours a day and then suddenly they all get zapped. Just means that for the likes of Paul or Malcolm or some Antipodeans who play around with their new found skills at that time of the day that things won't always go according to plan.

The reason yourself, Malcolm and I notice it then is usually because we're still up at obscure hours chatting. Jimbo is excluded as, although he's chatting, doesn't have a clue how to work Fotango!

Doesn't have a clue how to put a gif on either. Should we teach him or does the saying "you can't teach an old dog................." come to mind?
