All my life, I have remembered the expression "Only the wise old owl... and he's not telling anyone."
After five decades of not remembering where it came from, I think I've suddenly remembered.
Did the Flowerpot Men end with the man in the Big House starting to come down the garden and with the announcer saying that he knew nothing of what had happened during his lunch? "Only you know, children... you and the wise old owl - and HE's not telling ANYONE!"
At five years, I don't suppose it would have occurred to me that not only the man in the big house would have been asleep at lunch time, that any self-respecting owl would have been as well.
Please tell me I'm right. Otherwise, I have another 50 years of worry ahead of me.
