Please is there anybody out there who can remember this classic children's radio serial ? I've searched everywhere on the net and only found a couple
of passing references to it . Written by David Scott Daniell , Oliver was a drummer-boy and Polly was the Sergeant's daughter . Set in Napoleonic times it
tells of their various adventures . If anyone can tell me who the actors were or give me any more information I'd be very grateful . I managed to pick up a
paperback copy of " Polly and Oliver Besieged " some years ago in a charity shop , I believe there are 2 more in the series , all were serialised on
radio .

I'm afraid I cant help with your query but was very taken with your avatar which I believe is a character I havent seen since my childhood when I used to have the annual of "Bonzo". Am I right in thinking it is "Bonzo"? I used to love his books when I was about seven or so. I used to have the Bonzo annual and Bobby Bear Annual at Christmas (from Santa). And isn't thiis also the origin of The Bonzo Dog Doodah band?

Yes you are absolutely correct . I even have a Bonzo tattoo . One of the best bands ever . Try " googling " Studdy-ing with Bonzo . Just recently I
picked up a threesome of books in the " Nostalgia Collection " by Mary Cadogan , " Teddy Tail " , " Pip , Squeak and Wilfred "
and " A Dog Called Bonzo " for 99p each at a local charity shop . Brilliant .

Teddy Tail - Another rave from the grave. Long forgotten by me.
I cant remember which newspaper it was because its so long ago but I recall Teddy Tail being a regular cartoon in some newspaper - not the Daily Mirror. Any ideas anyone? |
