It's not so much the spooky batswing logo and clock that start the clip (since we didn't have telly at home in the 50s, I saw it only very very occasionally) as the programme opening that follows -- "Farming: for those who live by the land".
It's that jaunty music which takes one back so instantly! And there was so much more of the same kind all around in those days (even if we simultaneously and to the dismay of our elders "never felt more like singing the blues").
