I think it was "One Step Beyond" but I saw an episode of something about the sinking of the HMS Hood which really spooked me. I seem to think that
the content of this programme was supposed to be true - am I correct in this belief?
I have tried "googling" it many times since but can find nothing about the bit regarding the news bulletin and the fact that the announcement had been made on a BBC news programme. Apparently it wasn't in the script nor did the newscaster remember saying it! However the bulletin had been recorded and, when played back, the announcement was in fact there! Weird! MrWobbly |

"One Step Beyond". I was an avid viewer of this series. The series ran from 1959 to 1961 in the U.S.A., and part of the series was made in England. I
believe it was the first Anglo-American television production (Alcoa - Associated Rediffusion). Some of this series was placed on DVD a few years ago. John
Newland introduced each drama ending with the following words:
"What you are about to see is a matter of human record. Explain it: we cannot. Disprove it: we cannot. We simply invite you to explore with us the amazing world of the Unknown ... to take that One Step ... Beyond." That wonderful creepy theme tune would seep its way to a crescendo (as only they new how to in that era). Most of the stories were anecdotal, though. However, the drama mentioned in a previous posting was based on fact. Yours, ANDy |
