Yes, I am a latent old fogey at heart so youre stuck with it. For "fifties only" freaks, think Mrs Dale.
I somehow missed Jessie Matthews in your posting of March 11th, Kenny. So belated tribute to one of the doyennes of British Musical and cinema history. Cant possibly let her go without a small tribute on what is, after all, a nostalgia site. She would have been 102 on that day. ( March 11th) Almost Fred Astaire's partner instead of Ginger Rogers. Mrs Dale for many Turnips of a certain age and such a sad end for a once great star.
Here she is singing "Dancing On The Ceiling" when Frank Sinatra was still a bobby soxer himself. Lovely!

PS. I have a feeling I've posted this clip before but sometimes Alzheimers has its advantages so here it is again. And its worth watching just for the fantastic thirties art deco setting and furnishings. Why have all those lovely interiors been destroyed?
